Default Alternative to Amazon.CA for Americans

I want to buy the Canadian Blu-Ray of Ridley Scott's "Raised by Wolves" that comes out on April 12, but Amazon.ca no longer ships to the US, not even for pre-orders, like Amazon.co.uk

https://www.amazon.ca/Raised-Wolves-...dp/B09R5FJ1KT/

What is a good alternative for Americans to buy Canadian Blu-Rays? Is there a major Canadian retailer that will still ship to the US?

They don't ship anything to the U.S.? Or only items that are also available at amazon.com?

Regardless, as a Canadian who often faces this problem in reverse, I have accounts with mail-forwarding services in various countries (the U.S., Germany, and most recently, Spain). I always make sure to use a service where there's no subscription fee, so you merely pay by piece. If you never use it at all, you pay nothing.

I'm sure that there would be some sort of mail forwarding service shipping from Canada to the U.S.

This site ships to the US, but the season isn't currently available to order. I believe they are Quebec-based, so predominantly French, but there is an option to switch to English.

Third party sellers will likely pop up on Amazon.ca (and maybe US too) that will ship to you too.

Amazon.ca doesn't ship anything at all to the US anymore, as far as I can tell. Every item I click on, Blu-Ray, book, housewares, etc, that is shipped and sold by Amazon.ca gives me this warning on the product page:

"This item cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location. Please choose a different delivery location."

This is a recent change, within the last year or less. I've ordered from Amazon.ca and had items shipped to the US many times in the past.

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind if I can't find another retailer.

Thanks! I'll check it out once the BD is released.

I'm hoping it will pop up on Amazon US sold by Amazon Global Store.

US buyers have also been blocked form ordering from Amazon.co.uk within the last couple of months. This is even more heartbreaking, as I've ordered tons of stuff from them over the last twenty years.

However, the one good thing with many UK items is that, if you copy and paste the ASIN number, and search it at Amazon US, you'll usually ind a product page for the UK item, with an option to buy from Amazon Global Store, which sells you the item through the Amazon US storefront, but ships it from Amazon UK.

There's no page at Amazon US for Raised by Wolves yet, I don't know if Amazon Global Store also covers Amazon.ca, but I'm hoping it does.

It's so infuriating that, after all these many years, they've suddenly shut down the ability of Americans to order from foreign Amazons.

I can only assume it's because packages were getting excessively delayed due to the pandemic shipping woes, and Amazon headquarters just decided it wasn't worth the effort for the minimal amount of inter-country business they do.

The weirder thing is that, at Amazon.ca, you can still see the item for sale, you just get the warning I copied above.

However, when an American goes to Amazon.co.uk, the page can tell where you are and it hides the item's price and sales info, so the Amazon listing is invisible, and the item appears to be OOP, unless a third-party seller offers it.

What USA forwarding service do you use? The ones I looked at have costs so high it defeats the purpose. If I lived near a 'Shipy' pick-up location I would that.

MyUS.com

As a bonus, I get an automatic U.K. forwarding address with them too. And as I said, I pay by piece -- no subscription costs.

It offers a slew of shipping options. I always default to "Least Expensive Option." Shipping to Canada from the U.S. via regular mail takes forever (sometimes longer than from Europe to Canada), but so far, I've never had a package go missing with them.

Looks like I cannot join MyUS without giving a CC and their shipping rate estimator does not include USPS.

That's odd. My parcels always arrive in my Canada Post mailbox, so I assume that they ship them via the US postal service, then they get handed off to Canada Post.

Well, buyer beware, and all that. I've never really tried to shop and compare between services. Perhaps there's something better. I'm fine with it -- thus far.
