You're using HDMI, right? I'd check to make sure that the firmware is up to date on all the equipment (reciever and player). |

Hi there,
your not alone with this problem - I'm having the same issue with the following titles, after selecting DTS-HD MA I get a scratching sound and loud volume highs, enough to blow the speakers. The following titles are affected for me:- [/LIST]Planet of the apes (68) - (note that the dts-hd ma on all 4 other apes movies in the set are fine). For your eyes only Die another day Prince Caspian - Narnia The Who live in Kilburn 977 Sting - Bring on the night All other titles that have DTS-HD are fine, Hellboy 2, Live and let Die are recent titles that are just fine, but I have loads more that also play fine. I have a Panasonic BD30 Blu-Ray player updated to the latest firmware (2.5) and a Pioneer VSX-LX50 A/V amp Anybody out there have any ideas? I think maybe a new firmware is needed for the Panasonic as these are all new titles that have the problem. Thanks in advance if anyone has the answer???? ![]() |

i have been having the same problem with this receiver for ages. it started with my hd-dvd of brotherhood of the wolf and now continues with my bd-30 on the following titles while using my pioneer 91-txh:
die hard 1-3 sunshine (special features only) the uk bd of the assembly and it does it on my nice, brand new set of band of brothers korean bd of taegukgi i emailed pioneer once again about this since they claim that this is not a known problem to them. when they write back, i will provide a link of these posts. i have tried several different hdmi cables with this but the same problem happens with my blu-ray and hd-dvd player, it has to be the receiver. my bd-30 is up to date on the firmware as well. well, i got sick of waiting for pioneer to address the issue, so i just made panasonic a little richer by buying a bd-35 so that i can decode internally and not have to worry about the 91-txh having to do anything other than sit there and pass the signal through to the speakers.

There is a firmware update available for the 91TXH apparently as the following response from Pioneer indicates:
