There are several potential answers

1- You are not hooked up via analog or HDMI, and are hooked up via optical
2- Your player does not decode internally or support bitsteaming
3- You have not set up your player correctly

The 905 supports 192/24

What kind of player do you have?

Make sure you have the right track selected, there's Japanese PCM and TrueHD tracks, the former is stereo only (original mix) (both are called lossless in the menu though).

Failing that, call Pioneer and Onkyo, and make sure your firmwares are up to date. Your equipment should be up to snuff

Movietyme.com is the one I used, ordered it on Wednesday, it shipped Thursday. Axelmusic are also apparently shipping it, but they're asking funny money.

I'm dying to get Akira on BD, but I currently live in Europe. So far, I've often used Axel to import US BD's. Sure, their prices are higher but you don't have to pay additional import duties and VAT, as they ship inside Europe.

Do you have any other good stores to import US BD's to the EU to? I never say no to a better deal

Another suggestion to fix the problem . Try internal decoding and see what happens. That will tell you whether it's the receiver or the player.

I wouldn't be suprised to see the disc come out in Europe sooner or later, I believe Manga owns it there

I ordered this on Thursday from Robert's Anime Corner Store (animecornerstore.com) and it arrived the next day. The picture quality is very good. I only wish I had equipment capable of handling the Japanese TrueHD track after hearing so much about the audio.
