Wink Epic movies?

Ok, so i'm a huge fan of the epics like Troy,Gladiator,300, etc.. Now this isn't necessary a Blu-Ray thread but I would like anyone and everyones recommendations on good epic movies besides the three I have listed. Props!

Ben Hur. I would also say Lawrence of Arabia, but it's not QUITE along the same lines as the type of films it looks like are your thing (although it's my #1 fave epic).

Spartacus, Braveheart, Kingdom of Heaven, Ben Hurr, King Kong(2005), Patton, Lord Of The Rings Trilogy. I could go on forever.

i'd toss King Kong (2005) and 2001: A Space Odyssey up there. I'd even throw in Superman I because it spans such a long period of time and on a pretty big scale too.

3:10 to yuma is great
not an epic along the criteria of most of those, but it does have the traditional hero role in Dan (Bale) and a long journey

Can't believe I forgot Michael Mann's Heat. It is one of my top 10 films of all time.

More of the lines of Braveheart. Like the warrior/soldier epics. How is Alexander?

I personally found The Guns of Navarone to be rather epic, and the movie Heat as well.

yeah didn't like it at all on the first viewing.

just watched it again this week, and it has a great, deep story. like a lot of the critics have said, the "charging horse scenes, where the unnamed bad guys die, and the good guy lives, unless its a glory death flick...have been done to death" but this plot was great and so the action didn't need to stand out on its own with the great plot.

Ever since I saw it in the theater when I was 13, Lawrence of Arabia has been my favorite Epic Movie.
