That is terrible. I just saw this on ESPN a few minutes ago. Really tragic.

Sad but really not surprising, considering what they do for a living. It's one thing doing this with a bmx bike, but now with dirt bikes and even worse snowmobiles I'm surprised really that this sort of result is not more common.

Sad news, but like someone else said, I'm surprised this sort of thing doesn't happen more often, with how crazy some of their tricks are.

I don't even watch BMX stuff, but I know what a Hart Attack is (I read that's what he was doing), and I know I'd never consider trying it.

It's a bit disturbing that it was all caught on video, and now YouTube is flooded with copies of it.

truly sad but at least the guy died doing what he loved doing you know? These guys know the risks still It's a shame he died so young.

Those motocross guys are insane and I mean that in only the most repectful way possible. I got into the sport because my nephews are really into it and through X games/warped tours, Travis Pastrana in particular. They were huge fans of Jeremy as well and know this will be very sad news for them.

I just watched the crash on Youtube...wow..if he had survived that accident, I would have been shocked..you aren't suppose to bend like that.

That's exactly what I thought as well.

I give him credit for not giving up though. After apparently missing the same trick last year, he was still trying to do it again, even knowing the risks.

A few years ago I tried to do a sort of backflip/twist off a diving board, and hit my head (despite having done it successfully a number of times prior to that). I've never tried it again since. I stick to the regular hand-first dives now.

I don't watch X-Games, but I searched YouTube and watched the video. Sad to see another young person leave us so early.

RIP

I'm amazed that it's taken someone that long to die in that sport. There's no amount of protective gear that can prevent death when you land head first at 40 MPH and then have 150lbs of metal come crashing down on you. Still sad for his family. I hope he at least had excellent life insurance.

+1... I always wonder "what would happen if somebody falls off the bike or lands bad"? some of those falls i seen on tv are insane. life is crazy, that's why you live your life to the fullest everyday.

Im not certain life insurance would cover a death like that. It might have been an "accident" but im sure its far from an accident in insurance companies eyes.

He knew the risk. Sucks it happened though.
