Looking for 3 channel Amp - Blu-ray Forum

Hi everyone i'm looking for either a 3 or 5 channel amp for cheap. If you know anywhere to buy online or have one your looking to sell, send me a message. Emotiva is fine, but they don't ship to Canada, so any other suggestions would be great.

I am also looking around for a good 5 channel amp, so any info will be appreciated. I do have a question on the Emotiva amps, guess I'll ask it here. How come their 7 channel amp is cheaper than their 5 channel amp? I'm going off the prices on their website, which I think were $599 and $799 respectively. I think I'd go for the 7 channel amp, which seems to give me more and for less money. Any thoughts?

While they're both based on the same class A/B design, the 7 CH UPA-7 is 125W/CH (all channels driven - and a very conservative rating, I might add) while the 5 CH XPA-5 is 200W/CH (again, all channels driven). You'll get a lot more dynamics out of the XPA-5 at higher volume levels, but the UPA-7 is certainly no slouch.

Well Emotiva shipped one to me no problem. XPA-3 for about $70 shipping, $40 duty and $21 brokerage plus GST and PST paid up front. Amp shows up 3 days later with no additional cost. This was back when the 3 channel was $499 so YMMV
