Why haven't they released it? The movie would sound amazing on Blu Ray.

As of now, we know nothing about Spielberg titles. But we are all fervently hoping.

Allow me to take the time to steer you towards the search function on these forums. We have many members here who fly off the handle for no good reason when they see a redundant topic. To avoid their wrath (and, more importantly, to keep the forums from being cluttered with redundant threads), try searching for your particular topic before posting. Chances are it may have been discussed already--Spielberg Titles, Lucas titles, the LOTR trilogy--all those big releases have been discussed ad infinitum in preexisting threads.

Frequently, the search function is very finnicky and does not return good results. If this is the case...POST AWAY!!

I don't mean to get on you or anything, but learning how to navigate the forums will provide you with the most informative and enjoyable experience here. And despite what some of the "snobbish" members here may say, no question is too stupid to ask if you don't know the answer.

As to why they haven't released it, chances are they are waiting until there is a larger install base so that the title will sell in massive volumes on release day. The remastering process is also a protracted one, and I think you'll agree that we want a quality job, not a rush job, on titles like this one.

I would say probably next year.

Most spielberg movies have had several releases (JAWS) so I would expect to see it soon.

Personally I want jurassic park on bluray which I think will probably happen right before Jurassic Park 4 is released.

Actually, Saving Private Ryan was released in July of 1998. The movie's 10th anniversary has already come and gone.

It could be possible that, similar to George Lucas, Spielberg is just ever so sightly acting like a douchebag with respect to releasing his movies on this "strange, new" format called Blu-ray.

I say "similar" because we all know that George Lucas is a REALLY BIG HACK!!
