Default Help with buying projector and screen for $800

I'm looking to buy a projector and screen for $800 (Or less, maybe a tiny bit more).

I am not neccesarily looking for a new projector (or screen).

I am thinking of spending about $500 on the projector and $300 on the screen.

I am looking at mits 1500 models used which I have seen for as low as $500.
Would this be a good choice for a $500 projector? I have seen projectors that are 3 years old that were $5000 new for $400, but I am assuming that a 1 year old projector for $500 would likely be better than a 3 year old projector for $500 even if it was a higher end model to start... but I could be wrong.

I am factoring in the bulbs since if a used model doesn't have much bulb left I will have to get a new one which could go over $500.

On the screen I must have a pull down screen, I can't used fixed. I don't mind if it is a manual pull down screen. I haven't looked at these thourougly yet but I am hoping to get a widescreen model, 100-120", for $300 if that is possible (I'll be primarily looking at used first).

My room is completely dark if I want it to be so hopefully that opens up the options on screens.

BTW, the room is 18x10. The screen from viewing distance would be about 16'. Ceilings are regular height.

Hope I am not leaving out any critical information!

Thanks for any suggestions, I have been reading a lot of threads and taken note of them but not many people are in to a 'behind the technology curve' strategy like I am.

ALso if anyone happens to be upgrading and has a projector to sell, you might let me know. I will check the trade/sale forum.
