Unhappy Lossless Audio Problem

My Samsung BD-P1500 has a problem with 20th Century Fox Lossless Audio only. All other BlueRay audio is perfect. Any suggestions?

Be a little more specific. What is the problem?

The audio is garbled or sounds really bad but only on the following Fox Lossless audio DVD's -- Independence Day, The day After Tomorrow, The Die Hard Collection but the Audio is great on Iron Man, Kill Bill, and all other non-Lossless Ble-rays??

Not according to the covers for both. Kill Bill is 2.0 Dolby Digital and Ironman is Dolby True HD and Dolby Digital. Both play and sound great but the Covers for the others all say Lossless 5.1 DTS Master Lossless Audio and are all 20th Cent Fox movies and the audio is crap just for these. Do I need an HDMI or Analog Cable for the Lossless audio?

Dolby TrueHD is a lossless format.
And Kill Bill has 5.1 PCM. I know, that's how I watched it.

But I might know your problem - of lossless formats, DTS-HD MA is the least compatible... for example, the PS3 still can't decode or bitstream it. It seems likely your player and/or receiver doesn't support DTS-HD MA.

And yes, anything more than PCM 2.0 requires an HDMI or analog connection, although sometimes the player can "downscale" the audio to a supported format...

The PS3 has been decoding dts-HD internally to PCM for over 10 months. The only thing the PS3 can't do is bitstream and really when you look at the track mixing that many BDs require with secondary audio it is preferable to let the player decode.

Problem seems to be the DTS-MA.

Most likely your player outputs it but your AVR doesn't decode it.

Edit- I checked your player will output the bitstream of DTS-MA but does not decode DTS-MA. So,... you don't mention your AVR but either your AVR doesn't decode DTS-MA or you need to let you AVR know to expect DTS-MA. (Likely you AVR doesn't decode it. My AVR doesn't decode much but my PS3 can decode all the formats and output them as PCM.)

My apologies... I was clearly looking at old information.
