Default The Official Denon AVR-2309CI Receiver Thread

<U>

The Denon AVR-2309CI will fill your room with detailed, enveloping surround sound. This future-ready receiver teams seven channels of high-current amplification with sophisticated digital processing to deliver a riveting home theater experience. You get decoding for the latest surround sound formats, including Dolby® TrueHD and DTS-HD™ Master Audio — two high-resolution surround sound formats available with many newer Blu-ray players and discs.
Four HDMI inputs plus 1080p video upconversion
The '2309CI features 1080p HDMI switching for four high-def video sources. Analog-to-HDMI conversion lets you send all your video sources to an HDMI-capable TV using a single digital cable, simplifying hookup and maximizing picture quality for each source. Plus, when you use the receiver's HDMI output, it can upgrade your non-HD video sources to resolutions as high as 1080p, for a better match with your HDTV's high-res display.
Precision auto setup tailors sound to your room
For the most accurate home theater sound possible, Denon equipped this receiver with Audyssey MultEQ®, a sophisticated automatic speaker calibration system. The '2309CI uses the included microphone to analyze sound from up to six different listening positions, then automatically adjusts level, equalization, and delay settings for each of your speakers. You get precise response across a wide listening area instead of just a single "sweet spot," so everyone in the room can enjoy optimized home theater sound.
Superior sound quality from every source
Beefy Denon construction includes twin independent power transformers plus six independent power supply circuits to ensure your music and movie sound always comes through strong and clear, even during heavy dynamic peaks. Pure Direct mode shuts down all unneeded circuitry and the front-panel display to eliminate any potential interference, giving you the cleanest possible audio.

I couldn't find a specific thread for this receiver before I bought it and decided since I just received it in the mail I would start an official thread for others out there who may be in the same boat I was. I'll include official reviews in the first post and I'll also update after Thanksgiving with my own review. Enjoy.

It's killing me to not be able to play with my new toy yet. The day it arrived from ups I left on a trip and I won't be back home until Friday. My new baby is sitting at home in it's box 1000 miles away from me. I can't wait to hear it, especially since I haven't had a receiver in 3 years, and my Infinity speakers have been set up in the living room since July.

I really wanted to get the 2809 but settled for the 2309 since I found a deal for it and got it for $599. I couldn't pass it up, for a brand new receiver that isn't a refurb it was quite the steal.

It didn't bother you that 6th Ave is not listed as an authorized Denon dealer? What happens if you need service?

Well, I'll be a monkey's.................

Now, if I can get some solid info about whether or not I should ignore the 2 year new warranty, and buy a 2309CI refurb, with a 90 day Denon warranty, I'll be able to make a decision.

they are very legitimate. Couple of members here just bought Panasonic plasmas from them...my dad also bought a Pioneer Plasma. Arrived in excellent condition.

They have been in business for many years.

Why are they so cheap compared to others? I am wanting to upgrade my receiver as well and I can't pass up this price!

I usually buy everything through amazon but amazon is $749. I'm rather surprised by that.
