This is why I love Family Guy. Nobody but Seth MacFarlane has the stones to burn 2 full minutes on a single gag like this. Awesome...

It's not 'stones' as you put it.

It's lack of ability to write 22 minutes of jokes so instead it stretches out the 5 jokes that he does have into 5 minute long jokes to fill the time.

IE: Crappy writing.

Nope.

It's calling attention to itself by exaggerating the screen time for a single gag, thereby compounding the absurdity, and extending the laugh. This is a comedic principle that stretches way way back to the days of Jack Benny's radio show, and before.

Even Jack Benny didn't beat the hell out of the concept like Family Guy's Manatee's do though.

Yah, this was lame.

Family Guy is terrible.
They also stretched out that boring Stewie music video just to reach a full episode.
Terrible show.

I personally like this show alot, and this spoof was really funny. Definitely not for everyone though. Humor has got to be one of the most subjective things in the world. As long as you can laugh at something...

Finally some reasonable people in this world. Family Guy hasn't been good since Fox brought it back on air.

"Boy, you are going to owe a fortune to the swear jar"

Last night's show was a classic! To me, FG is hilarious. It's one of the few that make me LOL.

And I have to say that's what ruins the show for me. They burn 2 minutes up instead of writing more formula jokes. The manatees are still on staff. What does he care though, he voices half the characters on his shows anyway.

Remember when Stewie bothered his mom saying "Mom, Mommy" for two minutes straight. Brilliant writing.
