Next Avengers - Heroes of Tomorrow?

I'm interested, but I just got scared last night and cancelled my preorder, and decided to rent it first. I look forward to it though.

I'm a little weary as well about getting this today, I like the animated movie concept, but not sure about this one. Seems more geared to kids.

Can any of our blu-ray forum users comment on this blu-ray?

Was reading a post in another forum, here's one persons take:

I saw it last night ( don´t ask) and I gotta tell you: I was surprised. At first, when this was announced, I was sckeptical about the characters, the story, etc. My first reaction was: " Oh no, more kiddies stuff". The images of the new Iron Boy came to mind and I disregarded this Next Avengers movie.

But I was surprised because this was a very solid and entertaining movie. For those old school fans like myself, there are various elements and bits of regular continuity here and there to keep you interested. The prologue, read as a bedtime story, was great. Our beloved original Avengers ( plus Black Panther, and dont get me wrong, I wrote "plus" because he was not an original Avenger) were there, mentioned more like icons than characters, fighting the classic vilians. Then the new continuity arises, with the sons of the original Avengers and the son of Black Panther and his Queen ( who we already know who she is, specially because of the powers of their offspring Asari).


I wont spoil you the story, instead I have to say the animation was ok, not great, but far superior than in Marvels' last animated projects ( Dr Strange, Iron Man, Ultimate Avengers). There is a fight with Iron Man Vs Ultron that was ( at least for me) the best animated fight of Iron Man ever.
The characters ( specially the kids) are well written and they don't talk like idiots (as some writers tend to think when writing children stuff).
There are, however, some flaws on this project, as sometimes the main characters seem surprised when facing certain revelations, In some dialogues they seem to be very aware of their origins, and in other scenes they go whoa! when they realized who their parents are.

I have to admit I liked it, and I wouldn't mind to see more Next Avengers projects.

I just finished watching this, I thought it was great, the animation was a bit off, not bad, but off. Overall if you are a marvel fan/Avengers fan you should like this.

I picked it up from Best Buy using the Target add to price match it.

As the persons review stated in the thread above, it was actually a very enjoyable movie. Any Marvel/Avengers fan will enjoy this movie...and yes it is a movie for the whole family.

There are subtitles for anyone who needs it! I'm not sure what sdh means but am assuming it is for the hearing impaired. Hope that helps.

did you see SDH in subtitle option? It'd be apperciated if you double checked for us Thank you for your time.

I just checked the back of the box and the audio options and it lists "English SDH" along with the other options. So yes it is available.

I'll probably pick this title up when it goes on sale but why couldn't Marvel release a normal Avengers BD? Even the Ultimate Avengers movies aren't set in the normal Marvel continuity.

Even if they made a normal Avengers movie, it wouldn't take place in 616 continuity.

why wait? It is currently on sale at target for $19.99. I got Best Buy to price match.

The story stays pretty close to the What If? issue, but replacing Ultron for the Secret Wars...

Otherwise, it's a serviceable enough corporate Marvel-equivalent of Cartoon Network's "Teen Titans", and mercifully without the distractingly bad anime otaku-wannabe fan-imitations.
