I'm new here and I have been reading some of the posts. I know most here support blu-ray or are at least format neutral. I have a PS3 and am about to purchase an hd dvd player because there are some exclusive titles that i want. My question is when a movie is released in both formats with a 30gb/VC-1 hd dvd and a 25 gb/ MPEG2 blu-ray, which would you get and why? Wouldn't it make sense that the 30 gb with the less space hungry vc-1 could achieve better image quality than the very space hungry mpeg2 with 5 gb less to work with? My question mainly pertains to "Four Brothers" and "The Italian Job." I know that there have been some cases such as MI3 that have been better with the mpeg2. I would prefer to support blu-ray, but I don't want to get short changed on image quality. Thank you in advance for any input.
