Foreign Movie Thread

This thread is for any foreign movie that you have seen recently that was very good and you would recommend doesn't matter if its on Blu-ray or Dvd.

Downfall after reading the review for the blu-ray here, went to Blockbuster and rented the DVD.
This is and excellent movie in all departments.Highly recommended.

I tend to be more into the Asian movies mostly Korea and Japan. Korea really took off a few years ago but has slowly drifted off a bit.

France is where it's at now. They are the kings of modern horror.

I'll be obscure and recommend this:


This is one of my favorite movies of all time that almost no one I know knows of. Actually, the only people I know that know of it are Asian film fans. It's an amazing movie I think everyone would enjoy.

I've watched a few foreign movies recently (even more if UK is considered foreign... might be a silly distinction but it being in english would matter to some people).

anyway, Seven Samurai's reputation precedes it and it truly was great, but I also watched Le Samurai, a fantastic french film. Well worth seeing if you can get your hands on it.

Ping Pong > Shaolin Soccer

It's more about friendship and existentialism than about Ping Pong really. Great film if you can find it. I think they have it on DVD.

I'll also recommend a lesser known Takashi Miike film:


This is a remake of a Fukasaku film. Amazing movie about the downward spiral of one man and what lengths those around him will go to try and help.
