Default ??? About TV Wall Mounts

For anyone that has been following it, I’ve got my basement framed out and I’m ready to run all of my cables within the next week or so.

Part of me wants to order a wall bracket for the tv and have it there for when I run the power outlet and cables for behind the tv. I don’t want to end up w/the cables showing or have the bracket be in the way.

If ordering a bracket from monoprice, do I need to know exactly which tv I’m going to get before I order?? I want to get a 65” Panasonic plasma.

From what I’ve read on monoprice, a slim or ultra slim models may not be the best choice b/c I don’t want to run into problems or need something special to plug the cables in.

Could I go w/something like THIS and be ok??

The description says 37-63” tv’s, is it gonna matter that the tv I want is 65”??

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

You just need to check that there aren't any limitations...check the bottom, it excludes a number of sets (none of them are Panasonic). They do have a really nice live chat option, so you could double check and just let them know what Pannys you're considering.

I noticed they have certain models listed as not being compatible w/the bracket itself.

I’ll check out the live chat option…..didn’t realize they had that.

Thanks!!

When I used the live chat it was very fast and very helpful. Probably will help if you have your TV options narrowed down to 2-3. Or, they might say right out that the mount will work with any Panny plasma.

well, it'll be either the current 65" or last years 65". maybe they'll do exactly that and say it'll work w/all panny's.

The bottom line is, don't buy it. I feel/know you should wait until you have the TV. Buy a bracket for the TV you actually buy.

My little story:

I had a 37" in my bedroom and the bracket went up to a 40". When my TV was stolen, I was looking for the TV that went with the bracket I had instead of looking for the TV I should have gotten/wanted.

I had gotten a 40" and now I kinda wish I had bought something up to a 50". If I wasn’t trying to match something to the bracket I had, I would have gotten a larger TV.

I know it's not the same thing as what you are asking, but it goes to the fact of getting a TV you want instead of getting a TV that will go with a bracket you bought before you got the perfect TV.

I have a bracket for my 65” and it wasn’t from Monoprice. You can look in my gallery to see how I put mine up.
