Angry BD drive won't read Donnie Darko BD

I'm about to tear my hair out with frustration here and I'm hoping you all can help me.

The BD drive on my HTPC will not read the Donnie Darko BD *at all*. Whenever I put the disc in, it just spins in the drive with nothing happening.

I have tried three different copies of the disc from three different retail locations. I have checked to see that the firmaware on my BD drive is up to date (it is). All of my software seems to be working properly.

This is the *only* disc that I have this problem with. All other discs (hell, all other discs from 20th Century Fox which is Darko's studio) work just fine.

Any help you folks can give me in figuring this out would be greatly appreciated.

Does the label or shiny side have a black plastic bar on it by any chance?

I almost ruined the drive of my PS3 trying to get it to read "The Mask" which some idiot had put an RFID tag on the label side.

My first copy skipped, so I had to return it and get a new one. The 2nd one played fine.

Smile I've got it working now

I don't understand how this happened but so be it.

As part of a whole lot of craziness tonight, I ended up having to do a full reinstall of PowerDVD8 Ultra.

All of a sudden, Donnie Darko is working. I don't know why and, quite frankly, I don't care why so long as it *works*.
