Face/Off Problem - Blu-ray Forum

Hello,
I'm having a problem playing Face/Off on my PS3. It doesn't even recognize the disc when I put it in, but when I use my laptop, it starts right up. The Playstation doesn't have a problem with any of my other blu-rays, just that one. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Weird. I have Face/Off as well but didnt have any problems playing it.

I'd try to bring back to the store and exchange it for another Face/Off disc. that way they don't give u crap about it being opened.

It won't work because your 220lb chimp tore your hands and face off.

In all honesty, it sounds like it could be a laser problem. Does the ps3 recognize other discs?

I had a problem with FACE/OFF also. It worked fine with my SONY BLURAY PLAYER S300. One day it would not recognize the disk. I took the player back to BEST BUY and traded it in for the new SONY BLURAY S350 and the disk works every time we watch it. I would try cleaning the PLAYSTATION with a LENS CLEANER MADE BY MAXELL WHICH IS MADE FOR BLURAY PLAYERS AND GAME STATIONS ONLY. IT IS THE BEST BLURAY CLEANER ON THE MARKET AT 24.00 at SEARS. IT IS NOT THE DISK ALTHOUGH AT TIMES THEY GET SKEWED BUT NOT BRAND NEW RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX.TRY CLEANING THE LASER WITH MAXELL BLURAY AND GAME SYSTEM LENS CLEANER BECAUSE DVD HAVE RED LASERS AND BLURAYS AND GAME STATIONS USE A BLU LASER SO IF YOU ARE CLEANING WITH AN AVERAGE DVD LENS CLEANER YOU ARE NOT CLEANING ANYTHING. HOPE IT WORKS.

May be a bad disk. Mine plays fine.

firmware update? I had the same problem with "Casino". Returned it to Best Buy and had the same problem with the 2nd disc. As soon as I performed a firmware update on my "Samsung BD-P1500" it worked!
