Why wasn't it released on Blu Ray?

I think the earlier Perry movies (Daddy's Little Girls and Meet the Browns) sold poorly, hence no Blu-rays for Madea Goes to Jail, The Family That Preys and We're Getting Married.

Yeah, I'm very surprised that a $90 million grossing movie didn't get a Blu release.

see above, thats why. Sad thing is it probably wont ever come to blu as catalog titles do even worse

Tyler Perry has an enormous fanbase, though. The un-politically correct rumor is that the studio didn't think HD penetration was high enough in his "demographic" to justify a blu-ray release at this time. I think we can guess what they are really trying to say with that euphemism ....

I would think that Medea would sell (rent) as much or more than crap like Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, Another Cinderella Story, Doctor Doolitte direct to DVD/BD and other questionable releases lately.

I love the Madea movies and purchased Meet the Browns. I would've bought Madea Goes to Jail day one.

I'm as white as you'd get, and I would buy it on Blu-ray. I think it would have come out on Blu-ray if it was released by a different company. eg. Fox and Disney seem to a lot of new titles out on both BD and DVD, while Lionsgate and Sony it's hit and miss.
