My guess is you will see 1080i , but it's still the highest definition you can see. You will be able to use it for blu-ray as it is almost inteded to be.
1080i, i stands for interlaced, which means HALF the picture is only shown one at a time, just very fast! 1080p, p stands for progressive which means you'll see the full picture ALL the time. And 1080 means that there are 1080 lines across the screen, dvd only have 480 lines if I remember correctly.
Hope you learned something.

What inputs do you have..... if it has HDMI, use that.....

Also, is your projector capable of 1080i AND 720p ? If so, make sure you output 1080i if that is your Projectors native resolution.

You should see a HUGE improvement over DVD material.....

Welcome aboard.

QQQQ!
that was my guess too! but when i play a 720p file the picture is remarkably superior to a standard dvd. resolution is 1024 x 768 at 85 hertz. just another guess, but i do not think the brain can spot much of the difference between 720p and 1080i as it happens so fast. i think we both are good guessers but what is needed is a "knower". LOL
thanks again,

Regarding 720p/i and 1080p/i is supperior to Standard Definition (SD, also DVD's). If you have a large screen +42inch HD Flatscreen then 1080i/p is worth it!
But with 32 HD flatscreen inches you wouldn't be able to see the difference of 720 or 1080.
The longer you sit away from a screen, your screen size should correspond
to the length of were you're sitting. And use HDMI cables, that should also enhance the viewing pleasure!
And I actually know a bit, not an expert but more than the average.
I wasn't really guessing, I was making a little misunderstood joke and actually meant what I said
And welcome!
