Default Jin-Roh: Wolf Brigade

I know that this came out a while ago, but does anyone know where I could get a copy for a reasonable price (<$200 US)? I ordered a copy from rightstuf.com, but they keep sending me an email that says "we're working on it" as the movie is "on order from manufacturer." I have a feeling that they're not going to be getting a new shipment in because as far as I can tell, this BD has been discontinued. Any help is appreciated.

All Bandai Visual titles are essentially OOP with the exception of Akira.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to import from Japan? It's the same disc after all, just with a Japanese cover, right?

Is there a reason for that? Did I miss something?

They were released from Bandai Visual but Bandai Visual was then merged with Bandai Entertainment. So, a lot of Bandai Visual releases that final year like "Super Robot Wars", "Mobil Suit Gundam Igloo", "Haruka~Beyond the Stream of Time" and BD's like "Yukikaze", "Jin-Roh", "Royal Space Force", etc. they are not going to be easy to find for a low price. Although you can find "Demon Prince Enma" for cheap.

As for re-release, I asked our press contact for Bandai Entertainment about that and there are no plans for a re-release of those titles at this time.

I wish I could get Freedom for less than $100, but that's not going to happen either.

I really want to see a Jin-Roh re-release as well. But this time make it less than $80 MSRP and available from more than two stores.

Well it will because Bandai Visual fused with Bandai Entertainment quite some time ago after all of those Bandai Visual releases were released. So when Bandai Entertainment comes around to bringing it to America again it will be more like $40 MSRP for Jin-Roh and not charge Americans the Japanese price again just to add a dvd copy and a booklet inside a dvd sized case.

The booklet (a 500 page storyboard book) was one of the reasons that justified the high price for me.

Don't count on that, seriously. Last I checked we're talking years before they're even going to think about re-introducing those titles

I certainly hope it doesn't take that long, Jin-Roh is one of my favorite anime films.

Is this a good time to point out that Bandai Visual Japan did not fuse with Bandai Ent but Bandai Visual USA (Honneamise)?

Bandai Visual USA releases are out of print though. So get them while the supplies last imo. I wouldn't hold my breath for a re-release.

It doesn't matter if you buy the U.S. release. Bandai Visual/Honneamise Japan can charged the Japanese whatever they see fit but Bandai Visual/Honneamise USA is with Bandai Entertainment USA now so it will go with Bandai Entertainment's pricing. Sure the ones OOP are still expensive from Bandai Visual/Honneamise USA but that's why they're OOP.

it is amazing that these two titles, yukikaze and jin roh, are OOP. nothing against the quality of the films themselves, but even on regular dvd format the anime genre has gone out of print much faster than live-action films. but then again they usually come with fancy packaging. btw, i have jin roh and yukikaze on blu, both brand new if anyone is interested.
