Default James Bond Volume 4 Blu Ray, Will it ever be released?

Hi, with the recent news of MGM being 20 million dollars in debt, could this mean James Bond volume 4 will never be released if the Bond franchise is sold. Or will who ever buy the franchise be able to continue the volume sets? Does anyone know?

$20 million? That's all? That's chump change for Hollywood studios. Here's a hint for these studios. Stop making stupid comedies that bomb at the BO. Make movies that people actually want to see.

Fox owns the rights to the MGM 007 films.

I thought Fox owned the rights, so even if MGM sold the franchise the volumes will still be produced by Fox?

I believe so. All the latest Stargate releases were distributed by FOX even though they were an MGM franchise.

Then I am sure this one is definitely hitting the markets real soon.

MGM has never done their own distribution. WB did it for many years, then they moved to Fox, then to Sony for a short time and back to Fox

Stupid question: Is there any regularity to the rate at which the first three volumes were released? Second stupid question: Is it possible to speculate when we can expect to start seeing more announcements about the contents of volume/wave 4? Third stupid question: Is there a reason two titles were released but not included in a Blu-Ray Collection set (Man with the Golden Gun and Licence To Kill)?

But that set was not an official Vol. 4.

I think Bond is done for a while on BD until the next film hits the theaters.

Fox simply distributes MGM titles on home video. MGM still owns the franchise, and in turn MGM is now currently owned by Sony and Comcast.

I've often wondered what the hell happened with the Bond volumes - they get the first three out in a pretty tight timeframe and then BAM, they fall of the face of the Earth. The Best Buy set isn't really Volume 4, but I did end up getting two single editions from it to keep my Bond collection complete (I already owned Quantum, just needed the other two from that set).

I don't know if they didn't sell well or what, but they sure are dragging thier feet on finishing this set.

PS - looking back, I wish I had just purchased the single blu-rays, I don't really care for the quality of the Volumes much at all.

Me too. I bought the sets under the mistaken notion that they would occupy less shelf space, but they are the same overall thickness that the individual cases would be.

I do not mind the box set volumes 1, 2 and 3. I was able to obtain all three during two different amazon.com deals.

However, I will FREAKIN' POP A VEIN if the rest of the Bonds do not come out on BD --- and they need to be in similar-looking box sets.

It is BAD ENOUGH that only NINE of the Bonds came out in steelbook packaging. The rest need to come out in steelbook as well.

I am eager to see A View To A Kill on blu.

Would love to get the other 9 films on blu ray. We have a long wait until 2011 when they will be released with James Bond 23 in theaters.

I want On Her Majesty's Secret Service on Blu-Ray. As of now, the 2-DVD special edition is only available in the 2006 boxset.
