Default Samsung 2550 vs. LG BD300

I'm looking for opinions on the two models listed in the title. I recently picked up the samsung 2550 but noticed the LG has been adding features like youtube streaming and photo streaming from a local pc. Those seem like features that would be nice to have.
From reading threads on this forum it seems like the 2550 is a little better quality from a hardware standpoint, for example DTS HD decoding. And I've read an article that the 300 has problems with 1080i movies, glitches or can't play, not sure. I'll try to post a link to the article. But the 300 has a few more features. So before I return the 2550 and replace it with the 300, what are some opinions on the 2 players. Should I go for the one with slightly better features (300) over the better hardware (2550)? Or the other way around?
Secondly, I've posted on a Samsung monitored forum if they have plans to update the 2550 with additional features like the 300 and received a 'no comment' response. What has been the experience here? Is it unlikely or likely Samsung will update the player with new features? I'd like to see them make it work with PlayOn, Hulu, Youtube, photo viewing, etc. Maybe the player can be hacked to work with these?
Thanks in advance.

This has been discussed in another thread not long ago. The 2500 series already stream Netflix movies,....and the 2550 streams Pandora, a music service. Youtube streaming, to me,...seems fairly useless, unless they have a way to navigate the youtube site from the BD player.

And again,....why ?

Most HD TV's already have the capability of doing photo slide shows of pictures from memory card inserted into a slot on the TV.

Hardware wise,.....I think the Samsung is a superior unit, what with the chipset it has.

Seems like LG has found a way to navigate youtube. Also, Hulu has a lot of shows to watch. And PlayOn allows you access to both of these. With all of these options I think paying for cable becomes less valuable to me.

Mine doesn't. And if I can have my photos streamed directly to the TV I don't have to mess around with copying photos to a memory card. I bet boring vacation slideshows would make a huge comeback.

Thanks for the info.
So one for hardware over features. Any features over hardware?

I don't know much about the LG unit but I do know that the Samsung is a solid unit. If you have a lot of DVD titles that you don't want to spend $$ on replacing like I do, the upscaling of the Samsung is the best in that price range.
