Default Yamaha v363bl, can I get hd sound?

I am looking for a cost effective new receiver. Will this decode through multichannel inputs?

With the RX-V363, or its replacement the RX-V365, you'll have lossless audio if the player decodes the signal and you use the 5.1 channel analog inputs. However, I don't think the 363 or 365 can process lossless audio via the HDMI input - it's pass through only.

I would really recommend hunting around online for the RX-V663 or RX-V665. That will give you analog inputs, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA decoding, and YPAO room calibration. The 663 can be found online for around $320 shipped, and it covers all the bases.

If you are using a PS3, you can purchase a Yamaha RX-v463 which does not decode HD Audio but accepts coverted audio over HDMI.

So your PS3 will decode the audio and send it to the 463 via HDMI and you can experience lossless.

It is $250 on buy.com through J&R, shipped free.
