This may sound strange to some, (I'm hoping I'm not alone here ) but I like watching movies alone. Theres something about it that I like that is hard to describe. Would you rather watch a movie alone, with a friend/mate, or among a group?

it just depends for me. Sometimes i like to watch movies alone when i want to get away from thing or people, it makes for a nice escape. A lot depends on the type of movie and how interested in it i think i will be. If i know it is going to be an epic movie, i would rather watch it by myself so that i cannot be disturbed while watching it

That is a good question. When I watch a movie alone I pay more attention to the movie so I enjoy it more. It is also great to watch with a bunch of friends you laugh more and get more into the scary parts and you can express yourself more.

This is so true. I feel like if the person/people i'm with won't appreciate my selection then I would rather go at it alone.

I like both . Watching movies alone is a peaceful way to escape everything going on around you but it is always fun to watch movies with friends and hear their reactions and talk about the movie afterwards.

I agree and to me a lot of it depends on the movie I'm watching.

I can go either way. I sometimes like to watch a movie I've seen with someone who hasn't seen it as it feels like I can have that first time experience again through them. I know, it's kind of lame, but yeah. lol.

That's um... that's impossible.

Like others have said, for me it depends on the movie. If I really want to pay attention to a movie, or generally work my way through it at my own pace (rewatch parts, take breaks, whatever) it's obviously best to do that alone. And sometimes I like to just relax in a recliner, and pass out watching a movie. That should also be done alone (unless you don't care about being a bad host).

But most of the time it's fun to watch a movie with a friend, to bounce ideas or comments off each other, which can make the movie (particularly a bad one) more fun to watch.

And then there are times when you find out a friend hasn't seen a classic movie, so you sit them down to watch it, because it's fun to see their reaction to it (and if it's a classic, I certainly don't mind watching it for the umpteenth time).

This response is perfect from my outlook. I want to cry by myself, and laugh with others.

Curious, what types of movies are for viewing alone? Sad, scary, etc?

I don't watch that many movies alone. My viewing partner is my wife I would say in about 95% of the times, except the odd times when I am re-watching Star Wars for the 4th time that week
