Default Heating HT

My HT is half of a two car garage and I cool it with a window air conditioner, but heating it has always bothered me because I use a space heater and worth about fire.I bought a oil filled heater today that has over heating protection,if I plugged it into a single surge protected would that help shut it down if the plug over heats?I know surge protectors help with surges but would they work and shut down the heater, its a 15 amp heater and all my plugs are 20 amps.thxs

I use an LG unit similar to this to cool AND heat my garage, it works great.

Thxs Mr Bill, its kind of pricey but it does 2 things,is it quite?I like the oil filled heaters because they give heat from the oil atfer the themosate shuts down but my window air condition drives me nuts because its loud.

I wish it was a little quieter, although to be fair the heating function is much quieter than the AC function for obvious reason. I tend to fire it up and let it run a few hours before I plan to watch a movie, that way the room is cool/warm when I get in there and I can turn it off if the noise bothers me, it normally doesn't simply because I watch at -15 on my 4311.

How big is the are you are dealing with?

The only other thing is leaving a space heater on when nobody's at home always bothered me but it can't be helped.
