Default Denon AVR-1909/Panasonic DMP-BD35/Samsung M87 - one of these is resetting my settings

Hi

I have a Denon AVR-1909 plugged into a Samsung M87. 3 Devices are being used: a Sky HD, Xbox 360 and a Panasonic DMP-BD35 Blu-Ray Player.

Whenever I change the input on the Denon M87, my TV automatically changes its settings from Just Scan to 16:9 forcing me to change it manually.

I'm not sure where the problem lies but I'm sure it's with the AV Receiver or the Blu-Ray player as it didn't happen before I bought them.

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Thanks

HDMI at full 1080p/24.

This never happened before when I had my Denon AVR-1507 but since I bought my AVR-1909 and DMP-BD35 this has started happening along with a strange occasional brightness flicker on the end credits of movies.

Thanks for your help

Well, in the sense that I had no problems with my older setup. Yes, the HDMI didn't go through the amp, but now I'm having problems. So that means it can't be the TV so it must be the BD35 or the 1909.

Yeah, or darker scenes. It's really hard to explain, but it's as if the TV is automatically adjusting the contrast every 2 seconds or so but it seems to be OK during brighter scenes.

Thanks again for your help

There's DNie - not sure what that is though. Any ideas about the resetting image size?

Thanks

is all of your devices connected to the HDMI connections?

Samsung M87 <<HDMI<< Denon AVR-1909 <<HDMI<< Xbox 360 (1080p/60), Sky+ HD (1080i/60) & Panasonic DMP-BD35 (1080p/24)

I think the Dynamic mode is what is giving you the contrast issues.

Ive never used a Samsung so I do not speak firsthand, but personally I would turn off the DnIE. I believe this is engaged in the "Dynamic" mode. I would switch to another mode...Movie? and adjust your settings by hand.

I don't believe the receiver or player would have any affect on your TV not remembering the "just scan" option...I think its something with your TV.

I don't think it can be the TV as this never happened before I bought the receiver or the Blu-Ray player. I think one of these devices is forcing 16:9 but I don't know which one or how to stop it.

I don't think 16:9 is a problem for bluray. It does not use any overscan anyway, so 16:9 should be just fine...and probably why its changing?

What TV size is yours? I could not find any info on this set (could you find me a link or a user manual?)

Does your TV have a "plug and play" option in the set up menu? ...is it set to "Home" or "Shop"?

It may not be a problem for Blu-Ray but it's definitely noticable on my Xbox 360 and even more on Sky+ HD (HD Satellite TV).

The TV is 40" (http://www.google.com/search?client=...UTF-8&oe=UTF-8)

It might have plug and play but it's definitely off.

Thanks
