Default X-Men Last Stand

Okay -
I need to know what the difference is between the previously released X-Men Last Stand Vs the NEW. I have the older release - however need to know if its worth getting the NEW.

According to Blu-Ray:

OLD RELEASE:
VIDEO: mpeg4ACV / 1080P / 2.40:1 AUDIO: DTS-HD Master Audio 6.1
NEW RELEASE:
VIDEO: mpeg4ACV / 1080P / 2.40:1 AUDIO: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1

The only difference I see is that the new release is 5.1 audio vs the older 6.1.
Does that makes sense for the 5.1 on the new release vs 6.1 on the old??

Is the new release basically just added features and additional disks? The movie itself is basically same release?

What should I do????

Thank you - however does that mean a better quality movie or just more room for the extras?

You wrong. The old release is MPEG-4 AVC and DTS-HD Master Audio 6.1.

Seeing as how the movies are being released in 5.1 in the decked-out box set, I assume that 5.1 was what the movies were mastered in and the extra channel was put in just for the previous Blu-ray release. People with 7.1 setups can just up convert the 5.1 audio and achieve the same sound experience as with the 6.1 track.

Hey Donnie,

Loved your movie by the way

I had the older version but sold it back when I ordered the new box set. Since it doesn't come out for another month I think you won't find lots of people with answers to these questions till closer to the release date.

I thought the AQ and PQ of the old release were fine.

The older release has good picture and audio quality. It was one of Fox's first AVC video encodes. It would not surprise me if the new release duplicates the original release in those terms and just adds some new extra features.

I asked Jeff in the insiders thread about the audio being listed as 5.1 for the new release instead of 6.1 like the old release had and here was his response:

"I really wouldn't worry about it, that kind of information, especially when it deviates from the norm is often wrong".

So, it sounds to me like maybe the 5.1 is a list mistake and it's still gonna be 6.1?

Yeah still not sure why Last Stand basically got a bare bones release, also not sure why none of the trilogy got slip cases.
