Default SteelBook™ Collectors ... What else do you collect?

Just curious if the SB collectors of blu-ray.com collect just SBs or do they also have interest in collecting digibooks, criterions, or limited editions or gift sets or is it just strictly SteelBook?

I'm just collecting SBs and perhaps certain gift sets/L.E. if I like the movie or if it comes with some cool prop.

I've thought about getting digibooks, only if I got alot would I mind the taller then blu-ray case look as they would all look uniform if I had more than just one on a certain shelf.

I know this is kinda a weird topic JW as it doesnt pertain too much to SB but the question I have is really just geared to the BR SB community.

I collect mainly SteelBooks, but I really don't mind the occasional Special Edition or the gift sets.

I have the IAL Ultimate Edition coming in, the Shawshank and Cuckoo's Nest Digibooks as well.

I just like stuff that's out of the ordinary.

What I really collect is vehicles. I started building vechicles at the early age of eight, with my fathers help of course, he was into Hotrods and bikes and anything that went fast, so this is how I got started.

Classic and muscle cars will always be my number one passion for hobbies! (But I love my Steelbooks)

I currently own a 1958 Chevy convertible Impala, 1961 Chevy convertible Impala, 1969 Dodge Charger, 1970 Chevy convertible Blazer (K5), 2006 Hummer H2, 2009 Escalade and the wife drives a 2008 Range.

I started buying the older vechicles at the age of 16 with the help of my brother after my father past away, together we have build some BAD ASS show stopping cars.

If I didn't have this hobby I wolud have probably paid that crazy guy the 499 EUR's for the John Rambo Steel!

The funny thing is (not to get all sappy and all) but I would give all of this up to have my father back........

I do collect some cool boxsets, Appleseed EX Machina JP import is one of the most comprehensive and detailed sets with high quality craftsmanship that I've seen mass produced. The Wanted LE with the acrylic case is a nice touch. Funny thing is I've never really collected special packaging even for DVDs and now I like steelbooks. Since I work in the commercial print industry, I also like to keep quality printed collateral that I see either in public or stuff we've produced. But the main thing we are collecting now for our future is property, good time to buy if you've been saving

Nice! I currently don't have any steelbooks, but I'm thinkin of getting some of a few of my fav films. I'm also a big car guy. I'm young, 22, so I just have my 01 Cobra right now. I'm hoping to buy my first house in the next 5 years or so and I'll have a place to start working on my own projects. I'd love to build a 39' Ford Roadster, a 69 Chevelle with an LSX swap, and an early 70's Mini Cooper. Right now I'm helping my buddy with his 68 Firebird. He's got a Pontiac 400 bored .60 over that he's throwin in this next month.

I'd love to have a nice car collection like you some day!

Thanks tbizzle,

Yeah I also want to build a Ford Roadster, I prefer a 32 Roadster my self but that will have to wait for now. I just found a nice project 57 convertible Chevy Bel Air in North Carolina, so if this deal sticks I'll start building "Christine" soon.

I'm sure you'll get your great car collection, for me it took many long nights at work in order to invest so much money into this great hobby of mine.

I'm not jealous but a 2006 H2, 2009 Escalade and 2008 Range Rover worth close to 200K.
I'm making good money but I couldn't afford any of these cars...
Unless you bought them totally crashed and rebuilt them you're richer than most of us!

No, I don't care for or buy vehicles that have been in accidents, I have enough work on my hands just restoring the classics, let alone trying to fix new ones.

I bought all three of these vehicles way under employee pricing, so I saved a ton of money there, besides I'm also in the car industry.

Default collecting as a kid

For me steelbooks is my latest collection. But when I was a kid, I started collecting stickers (still have like 5 albums full of them), stamps (still do but not as much as before), keychains (have 3 shoeboxes full of them), rocks (i still do when i find a store that has them), disney platinum dvds (i was hooked on those, but I've swayed away now). But yeah, I'm realllyyy addicted to blu-ray steels now.

Great post Wreck!!

God I'm such a collector...

I'm a movie collector, on both BD and DVD (though now the only things added to the DVD collection are titles I don't think will ever come to Blu-ray, like old TV show sets and cartoons and the like).

I'm a music collector - real CDs, and the occasional vinyl for things that aren't available on CD. I don't have anything against vinyl, but I actively prevent myself from getting too into it because then I'd just have another way of losing all my time and money.

I'm a video game collector.

I'm a book collector.

And I'm sure once I get my ECE Ph.D in a few years and start actually bringing in a decent income instead of being a grad student, I'll look into collecting cars and guitars and who knows what.

I'm not like some collectors in that there aren't any predefined 'complete sets' I'm after - like I don't want every Steelbook, or every leatherbound book in a certain series or whatever. I just like building a library of these different things that I like. But it's not just to have access to them, as I also make sure I get the most attractive and cool-looking version of each thing. There are some books I have 5+ copies of because the cover arts are so cool, or it was rereleased with a new foreword by the author, etc.
