Default Dog question.

My Jack Russell Terrier of nine years, has just started breathing funny. He won't stop panting, and when he pants, there is a sort of clicking sound to it. Anyone have any idea as to what that is?

A vet will. He may have eaten something. I'd take him to the vet right away.

Pretty old dog man. I've have two dogs past 9. My Chow made it to 12 before she had to be put down and her puppy that we kept is alive and kicking at 9.

I took him in about a week ago. She said he's got another 5 years in him. She said he was going blind though. Maybe it has something to do with that? he stopped the panting after a half hour.

I've had a Fox terrier similar size who live til he was 14. Your dog should be still pretty healthy. I would bring him to the vet. It could be a heart problem as it sounds similar to a health problem my last Ridgeback suffered.

We have a Min Pin. She has a Congenitive Heart Failure and a partially collapsed trachea. She was given 6 months to live about 4 years ago. She will be 10 this year.

I took her off her medicine about a year ago and have noticed no difference in her condition.

I would say to take him to the vet and have him checked out. Probably nothing major.

I've seen lots of dogs, especially Jack Russels that click when they pant. I don't think it's a big deal, but if it's bothering you or the dog take him in for a checkup.
