Default Canivale Blu-ray Release?

I can't wait for this show to be released on Blu. It's so strange and I love it!

I gave up on it when they cancelled the series never even got to tell the whole story, same with John in Cincinnati, a great new different show with a huge storyline that never even got half way through.

The two seasons they did complete of Carnivale are very good. I've heard the original intent of the series was going to need six seasons in total.

Just finished reading a book about Cicero and can't wait to watch Rome again, but in BD. Carnivale was too slow for me. I had to stop watching after the first season when more questions were raised than answers.

I found that series very weird. I am not sure if I'd get that on blu.

I have it on DVD, but was very upset when it was cancelled after two seasons. It definitely needed one more year to tie it all up. I think this would look and sound amazing on blu ray, especially the opening credits.

HBO needs to get on the stick with the Deadwood too. By that I mean they need to finish it up and then put it out on blu. I thought these shows were pretty popular, but they all seem to die off after a year or two (Rome anyone?). Instead we get 14 seasons of Sopranos, but no closure on anything else.

Am I the only one who just does not like The Sopranos at all? I heard it was one of the greatest shows on television so I bought Season 1 and it was so...eh. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

I really got into it during the SECOND season. The 1st just kinda slipped by me, but I thought the second one was better.

I have to agree with the lion king on his dislike of the sopranos.
It was fun for a little while...not that great.

HBO puts out great series, but then won't let them finish telling their stories. I'm glad The Sopranos was wrapped up, and I'm happy for Sex In The City fans, but it's such a shame that Rome and Deadwood didn't get their chance to complete their story.

I never caught this when it was shown, but it has been on my wishlist for a long time.

Still no Blu news, but Amazon Canada has both seasons at 61% off today.

That's $33 US.

I'm going for it.

The Sopranos was really great for the first three seasons. By season four it seemed to me that the fact that show was about the mob was starting to become an afterthought which I guess is understandable as there is only so much you can do with that, but I also think the mob angle is what brought the majority of viewers in. The next three seasons had some good moments and storylines (I really liked Steve Buscemi's storyline), but the majority of episodes felt like a complete waste of time to me, or at the very least that they belonged in a different show.

As for Carnivale, it just never really grabbed me. I didn't really mind it's slow pace (I'm a fan of The Wire after all. I'm used to it.) but the whole subject matter of it never really appealed to me. I felt the same about the first season of Carnivale as I did about the first season or so of Big Love, another HBO series that never really caught on with me. Although apparently Big Love got much better in the last couple seasons so I hear.
