Tv 5.1??

I have connected my cable box to my receiver with digital optical cable and all I get is pro-logic. How come? The show will indicate HD or 5.1, etc.

Check in the settings if the audio output is Bitstream or PCM (you should set it to Bitstream).

make sure youre on an HD channel. espn always produces dolby digital

if you watch NON hd programming itll be stereo broadcast (you can use pro logic for that)

on directv you have to go into the menu and go to audio and put dolby digital ON

for comcast you go into the menu and put the audio for MATRIX (matrix = surround sound)
