Newbie with Some basic Queries

Hi all,

yes - I'm new too. A few basic queries:

1. Which blu-ray region is Australia in?
2. I seem to recall hearing that you can get multi-region blu-ray players (like u can for DVDs); are they generally sold in Australia without any issues or is it still like the early bad old days of DVDs when u had to get a hardware mod done to enable multi-region?

Region B, the same as Europe and New Zealand.

No idea on the second one. The solutions are pretty expensive for now.

There are some multi-region players but I have not seen many reviews of them. Here is one site selling hacked BD players:

1080/24p (good everywhere around the globe)
1080/60i (which is good in North America)
1080/50i (which is good in Europe and a few other regions but not North America)

1080/25p is not supported by the Blu-ray standard.
