Default Your Biggest Retailer Advert Peeve

I probably could have based this query on Amazoo releases alone but I'll leave the field open.
So, what do advertisers present with their product that drives you nuts?
A few immediately come to mind for me;

- "Complete Series" when it is not. It may be complete season 1 or some other iteration but complete, it is not.

- Slipcase shown when none available. I'm not expecting a retailer to go back and change all their art displaying the item once slips run out, my problem, is SLIPS RUNNING OUT! Why? For the few cents it costs to issue a slip with each release, I fail to understand this mind-set.

- No mention of disc stats. This is subjective to a degree, as for many releases the info can be found elsewhere but I feel that I should NOT have to do extra research to discover what in fact I can expect to be purchasing, when I buy YOUR ITEM.

YMMV.... but I'm at the lack of customer info.

Those “Complete Series” Anime series are ones that have sequels. Japan sometimes just likes to treat their series like movies. Like a DBZ Complete Series for an example wouldn’t for instance include Dragonball since it’s the sequel to Dragonball and Dragonball doesn’t have the Z. They just seem to not want to say like Season 2.

Now if it was like the 1st Season included with 1 or more sequels, it should really be called Complete Franchise Collection or something like that. Or just simply say This Series + This Series Collection.

Slipcovers are collectible items made for 1st press releases. Though sometimes these companies underestimate the demand for that series.

The incentives are stacked against the buyer, that simply can't be helped. There is too little benefit for the advertiser in providing accurate information, and too much incentive to make the product appear more attractive through inaccuracy and hyperbole. Getting upset about it mostly just means hurting oneself.

There has been the odd title where it was the other way round, being advertised as "Complete First Season" when there was only one season. That always weirds me out, because I think "wait, there is another season??" but then there isn't.

I think they are intended as a kind of "first-press" bonus, to incentivize collectors to order early. Of course, the actual amount of slips produced doesn't always correlate too well with the number of buyers interested in them, but the discrepancy probably doesn't make a significant difference in terms of sales.

Well you buy it regardless, so why should they change anything? I have an address bar shortcut to look up titles on Right Stuf (i.e. I type "rs <title>") (and "ann <title>" to look up series information on ANN), which is mostly good enough.

I dont really need an email every day from Sentai/RS/etc. Gets old after a while. I just ignore the emails and watch here.

I clicked on this thread because I wanted to see what it was all about.

Life is WAY too short. I'm gone.
