Default Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li???

I was just looking on Fandango for something to see this Friday and noticed Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li was coming out. First thing that came to mind was OMG/Why? Then I though, I didn't even see one commercial spot for this? I watched the trailer and though....ummmmm NO, rather spend the $10 bucks on a Walmart Blu-ray! (Or towards something better) Is anyone excited about this?

Where do you live? In New York where I live even the cheap seats (earliest shows) are almost $8 bucks! I will probably wait for rental...although it might not suck as much as I think it might. It would be cool to see live action HaaaDoocans!

I watched a number of clips of scenes of this movie on IGN the other day. I have mixed feelings about it. It looks like a pretty bad movie, but I'm a huge SF fan so it won't take much to please me. They barely have any of the characters cast in it, and they didn't make an effort to resemble the video game appearance like the original movie did (1994). Chun-Li and Vega seem to be well cast, but Bison and Charlie Nash don't fit too well from the clips I've seen. Apparently it's a prequel to the first game in the storyline, so that could explain the different look. All in all, I'll definitely be seeing it this weekend, but my hopes aren't too high.

My local theaters are $7.50 matinee and $10 reg, but found out it's $5.50 for the first showing of the day every day so I might just do that from now on! (check out my old thread) https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=72107

Cool man, I just made a similar thread but sort of the opposite. Your thread is how much do you spend to go to the movies, My thread is what was the cheapiest you recall ever paying for a movie? (back in the day ) As far as the new Street Fighter flick, is it me or does it look like straight to DVD/Blu? They are probably banking on the gold rush off of SF 4.

I finally saw a TV spot for this one.....

I'll pass on this one, especially since tickets are around $10 at the nearest theater.

The new game looks good though!

Yea, everything about it looks straight-to-DVD fashion, with the exception of the fairly experienced actors involved. As for the new actors, I thought it was pretty interesting that they cast Taboo from Black Eyed Peas as Vega. And yes it's definitely not a coincidence for this to be released a week after SF4 and the '94 blu-ray a week before SF4. So much Street Fighting lately I think I'm turning Japanese, I really think so

I'm gonna see it this weekend. It doesn't help that I love everything Street Fighter related.

The upside to this flick is that it will definitely not be crowded and the odds of having a nice outing without John and Jane Q ruining it are pretty high.

Of course....the odds of it....sssucking...are also pretty high. We'll see. I'll definitely buy it in Blu when it comes out.

I'll watch it eventually, though probably not in theaters. I like that they're hoping this will lead to a series of new Street Fighter movies that actually follows the games' mythology and back stories. I've read that if this one is successful, the next one will focus on Ken and Ryu.

I can go ahead and predict now, after theater release, then the dvd/blu release, and then tv airings..I'll never care to sit and watch this movie.
So i'll never see it.
