I love this quote from the article...

"You can sit there in your boxers with Cheetos on your chest and have a grand old time."

Hmmm...they know me soooo well

In my situation, it's just cheaper and easier to build up my own home theater to enjoy movies, than it is to spend $ on gas, dinner, baby sitter, etc.... Plus the bonding thing with the family is always the best part.

I have to agree with everyone. By the time Angel (wife) and I go to a movie, buy tickets, popcorn, a pickle (for me), a couple of cokes, its about 30 dollars. I can wait and buy the blu-ray for less, watch it whenever I want as many times as I want and have a beer for a fraction of what the theater charges for a coke. Investing in a dedicated home theater was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Lol. What movie theater You going to that serves (or even Offers) "Pickles" on the menu, or am I missing something here?

Anyway, I agree. I see the Huge Event Big Release movies (TDK, Iron Man, The Hulk, the coming soon Star Trek in IMAX, Terminator in IMAX, Transformers 2 in IMAX, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, Inglourious Basterds) in theaters, but regular movies I wait for, for the most part.

I'm guessing you live in the south? They don't have pickles in the theaters where I live but I love them!

Watching a movie in theater really is blind-buying. I don't feel like it is even more of an experience then Blu-Ray.
