The BlueBeam is designed to allow a Sony Playstation 3 to be integrated into an IR remote control system. The PS3 accepts only Bluetooth commands, but the BlueBeam allows any universal IR remote, that is capable of learning the PS3 commands, to control the PS3. The installation guide focuses on the Logitech Harmony remote, but other learning remotes or home control systems may be used.

EDIT: I just noticed another thread showing that a Logitech converter is also on the way (For Harmony), but details are few on what it can do or is compatible with, that would be a great option if it worked with all Logitech and handles all the commands as well.
