"don't buy that hdmi cable, its not Monster hdmi 1.3 Pure HD"...the 120 dollar hdmi 1.3 monster cable gets pure hd then the cheap 9 dollar hdmi cable"

That is what they should have also added in there if you notice the the marketing of 1.3 hdmi......quite sure people new to HDTV don't know a whole lot about digital hdmi cables..the cheap vs expensive have same results since its Digital...not like the old days how u remember it with it analog

This is the real reason to get HDMI 1.3 now.

If you buy new equipment today, the presence of HDMI 1.3 will help with future-proofing if nothing else.
I always believe in getting the best available technology at the time and only replace equipment about every 10 years. I don't carry debt for this stuff (or anything at all for that matter) and want to stash some cash for vacations, retirement and other things in life rather than upgrade my equipment every other year. As it is said, "A fool and his money is soon parted."

Watch "The Fall" on blu ray, 1.3 or not, that movie blooms colours I didn't even know existed.

If true, then 1.3 is really obsolete. We don't want colours that are not part of the source, and blu ray claims to get as close to the source as humanely possible. So I don't really see a point in it personally. Its not like 1.3 is going to make a crappy transfer suddenly become and light and day different is it?

I just bought a Intel X25-M 160gb SSD. It's around £700 on most sites, paid £472 for it, brandnew of course...it'll be obsolete within months!!! My mate has just bought a LG 47" Tv for the same money...

Once you spend money; on the whole you have lost the majority of it! The nature of capitalism is there will be something around the corner to tempt more mullah out of you
