Everything was fine in my books until she stressed to keep in mind that if you do not have a high-definition TV, you should not buy Blu-ray. BS. What about the sound? What about the extra features? What about future-proofing? It is still very possible to get better picture from Blu-ray at 480i. That is a ridiculous statement. Many Disney Blu-ray movies come bundled with a Digital Copy and a DVD copy for a few dollars more than the regular DVD copy alone. Doesn't that seem worthwhile? What about those $130 Blu-ray players? Should you save that $30 and get an upconverting DVD player? Come on now.

agree 100%, on the other hand you have to realize it is a report on consumer reports finding, they always go with the cheapest route. I find them saying that if you have HD then you should get BD (And upscaling is not good enough) far outweighed that little part, after all HDTVs are becoming more and more prevalent and people with SDTVs probably are not buying anything.
