Having immersed myself in the 3-disc "Full Disclosure" edition of Apocalypse Now for the past few days, I've now discovered that the slip case is just slightly too tall to fit vertically on my shelving!
![]() In fact, the height of the case is significantly more than that of a standard BD case and more than that of some other "special" cases such as Bridge On The River Kwai for example. So I'm wondering whether the 2-disc version might come in a case that is slightly less high. Could some kind person who owns the 2-disc version (i.e. without the Hearts Of Darkness documentary disc) tell me the height of the case (preferably in millimetres as this would be the most accurate)? If it would fit OK, I might consider getting it and just keeping my 'Hearts Of Darkness' DVD. Many thanks to anyone who can give me this info! ![]() |

I have seen the two-disc version and it is the standard size of a Blu-ray. My copy of the "Full Disclosure" edition will be delivered today and I was hesitant because of the box size. However, there is no comparison in regards to the content. The documentary "Hearts of Darkness" is a must-own if you are a fan of this film.Just be glad it isn't like the Warner Bros. Collector editions that are cumbersome and simply filled with trinkets and other junk. I wish all the studios could do what Fox did for "The Alien Anthology" -it is hands down the classiest box set any studio has produced for Blu-ray. But lets face it, so many great movies are being released in cases, digibooks and digi-paks of varying sizes that you just have to relent and buy the movie. Somewhere down the road Lionsgate might release the documentary separately but I just don't want to take that chance. Box sets can go out-of-print rather quickly because retailers have difficulty keeping them on display for very long. I cherish my copy of "The Complete Watchmen" and that title is difficult to find anywhere other than Ebay.

Yeah the only boxsets I will purchase must include meaningful additional content. That is why I passed on "The Wizard of OZ," "Gone with the Wind," "Casablanca" and the original release of "The Dirty Harry Collection." All four were initially in ridiculously over-sized boxes and contained a bunch of junk. Thankfully, Warner released these titles in more space friendly editions which included all the same content minus the so-called "collectibles."

![]() Actually I do prefer the artwork on the 2-disc edition anyway - maybe a minor point, but it will help me to justify getting it! ![]() |

True, but I wouldn't consider those features essential. The ones on Disc 2 are much more interesting and significant IMO.

bruce,
you could purchase a 3 disc case and place them in that, with the option to put in some custom artwork, or no artwork, if you desire. i am suffering some space issues at the moment, and i have band of brothers in a 6 disc case, bourne in a 3, matrix in a 4..etc... just an option |
