Default Shadow's Home Theatre...

Started back in July 08 planning and just drawing out stuff on paper. Looking around on the forums and other very helpful sources on the net to get some ideas. I didn't even know how to use an electrical saw and measuring tape but I managed. I originally wanted this to be a gameroom, I was ready to build my own arcade, buy pool table, etc.. but being the movie lover that I am, I changed my mind very quickly. Especially when watching Blu-rays on a 60" Sony SXRD with to much reflection, light, etc.. hitting the screen , I told myself "I need more. I Need Better". So after 8 months of planning, building and spending, and some headaches and approvals from wifey, it all paid off.

Sorry about the bad quality of photos. .

110" Carada Screen Brilliant White with Frames I built using 2x4s covered with Fr701. Speakers and subwoofer are hidden.

A Little more light on this picture. A vent blows air the other way. Ceiling is White. Debating if I should paint it Black.

Closet. Still needs a little work.

Seat Reserved.

Blackout Drapes from Eclipse block the Light from hallway and downstairs. Does a great job!

2 Large windows that were modified to Block Light. A real pain to build but it was worth it.

Boiler Room to the right. Limited me about 5 more feet in seating distance. Notice the Attice door above to the right. Easy access to run all your cables and install the lighting.

Recliners. No Cup Holders. The Middle is a Sofa and believe it or not, the end recliners were 1 love seat! I cut them in half and seperated them into each end of the long sofa.

A little more light.

epson 6500

About 7' away from screen. It's quite an experience when your this close.

Twilight.

Nice set-up. I like the way you worked around the obstacles in the room to maximize your viewing pleasure. Would be nice to see a list of all of your equipment. From what I can tell, those appear to be pretty small surrounds there by the couch. Is this your next area to improve upon? The aesthetics of the room are great however. Good job!

Yeah those are polk speakers. Using basic Satellite Speaker Stands. Other than the Okyo 805, I have some Polk Floors Speakers (60s) and I belive it's a Velodyne VX10 Subwoofer. I don't have that much sound quality as I would really like to have (Speakers). SOmething to upgrade on soon I guess.

Thanks for the comments. The posters you can find cheap on the internet and frames you can by at Walmart. If you want more fancy frames, be prepared to spend $$$. I've send some go as high as $500.00+. Crazy.

Very nice looking HT there. I like your poster and acoustic wall treatments. Only thing I'd suggest is a darker color on the ceiling - do you notice light bounce from the screen on the ceiling?

Yes I do. But only on very Bright Images. Everything Neutral, it doesn't really bounce. But it doesn't really effect the picture or distract anyone when watching a movie. I would really like to paint it but painting a cieling was probably one of the first things i should've done when i painted the room. Wifey actually didn't want me to because it didn't "Blend In" with the rest of the cieling in the hallway and would look awkward. If this was a Dedicated Theatre Room then that would be a different story.
