Default Colorado blizzard!

Anybody from the area effected? I never left for work this morning. My wife wouldnt let me. We are snowed in. I'm half expecting someone to swing an axe through my door and say,"Here's Johnny"

Nice duck hunt reference. I have family in Colorado, hope they'll be okay.

It's great here and we're spoiled, but you guys have killer snow. I guess you're aware of that at this point, though! I snowboard, and being close to the beach, I have to drive over three hours before I can get anywhere near a ski resort. That's a small complaint compared to being trapped indoors because of inclement weather. That just doesn't happen here.

Santa Cruz seems like a crazy place to live:

Median household income: $59,000

Median home price: $850,000

Not quite sure how that works.

Glad I moved out of CO. Beautiful, but I was tired of snow. Love this SoCal winter.

Perhaps now you see why we can "only" afford a condo and have a small-ish living room. Housing is NUTS here, and it's actually worse where I live, which is in mini-town/community within Santa Cruz.

I spent a week in Santa Cruz a few years ago. Rented a little studio by the boardwalk. It was fun.

I moved TO Colorado from San Diego last August...way different that's for sure. Blizzard was kind of fun yesterday, slid out 3 or 4 times on the way home from work, but recovered nicely. Only slid once on the way into work today.

Sorry you guys had to deal with that blizzard. That totally stinks. I have actually been in a blizzard one time. I don't have much of a frame of reference, so one could argue that I don't know what I'm talking about, but I know that's what it was. The snow was coming down so hard it totally whited out the atmosphere. I mean you couldn't see more than 10-15 feet in front of you. I was boarding when it hit. We went into the lodge and tried to wait it out, but it just got worse. Then we tried driving home. We had to drive like 10 miles per hour for about an hour until we reached low elevation, because you just couldn't see anything in front of you; for example: the road we were driving on. That was treacherous, to say the least. Very stressful drive, too.

I flew out to Colorado twice this past summer and it was awesome, but man I don't like the snow, so you won't catch me there from October through April!

Hang in there... your "spring" will eventually arrive!
