By their specs, it is an impressive sub.

2kW Class D Amplifier
185 pounds!

At almost 32"H, it might be hard for those having to factor in the WAF.

Looks like a decent enough sub, but it's really just two stacked 14" subs sharing the 2000 watt amp.

A single Paradigm Servo-15 comes pretty close to those specs by itself with a 1500/4500 watt amp. And it's probably better to stagger two discrete subs than stack them.

I'd pass on it..

My 14" reference series from them was 210 lbs I think....... not sure... but it was heavy...

$3K certainly puts it into the league of a few other subs.... so I'd have to listen to it....

The Trinity is nice, but if you want something that will make the Trinity look like a small toy check out the Tapped Horn subwoofers from Danley Audio. One of there smaller sub's (TH SPUD) has only two 8' woofers but the Tapped horn design makes Th SPUD the equivalent of a 36" woofer. Pick up two DTS 20's if you want to demolish your house without explosives.

A couple of DTS 20 owners I have talked to have said they have had to back down the volume level on a couple of occasions in fear of structural failure on there homes. he he

What Durentis should also have mentioned is the Servo 15v2 is absolutely
hardcore in the low end department......HARDCORE!

I think that DefTech boosts some of their specs, especially the power output. It may be a nice sub, but if I had $3k to drop on a subwoofer, it would almost certainly go to something else.

It is nice looking, but if I did drop $3,000 on a sub, I would end up sleeping with it on the couch for some time.....geez.

Make no mistake, the Trinity is a hell of a sub. I do think it is overpriced, but people knocking it obviously haven't heard it.

Def Tech doesn't falsify their range statements, but what they apparently do is use +-10db ratings, which is a little confusing since most in the industry use a +-3db rating.

Think id rather get two of the new A5-350s from eD. Save $1400 and spend it on movies and games to enjoy on the new subs...

The Servo 15 is a great reference sub, but based on the stats and design, I'm afraid it simply doesn't stand up against the Supercube Trinity. The Supercube Trinity is a special sub, and I've admired it for a few years now. It has 2 active 14" drivers, along with 4 passive 14" drivers, basically in a push/pull configuration. The Servo 15's maximum rated output is 120 dB at 40 Hz, while the Supercube Trinity is rated at 128 dB at 20 Hz, and 116 dB at 16 Hz, which is phenomenal. The sub is also rated down to a foundation cracking 10Hz too.

Don't get me wrong - the Servo 15 is a fantastic sub in it's own right, but the Supercube Trinity, both in design and execution, seems to have moved beyond it. Here's a review on the Supercube Trinity. If I had a concert hall sized home theater room, I'd consider upgrading to this one.

If I had the cash, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I used to own a Supercube I, and wish so badly that I still had it. It's not earth-shattering, blow your ears out bass. It's just deeper than deep, solid, powerful bass.
