It's making its rounds fast. I wonder if Harry Knowles will be dumb enough to try to respond to that mountain of factual ownage that got put in his lap?

It was polite, but Harry really got his ass handed to him six ways to Tuesday by Bill Hunt.

Even I'm kind of embarassed for Harry, and believe me: That's saying something.

For anyone interested the original article was on digg and buried by hd dvd fans. I relisted it on my website in the news section. Doing my part to get Blu Ray a little more recognition. Hope some fans of blu ray will get to it on digg before the hd dvd squad again.

Great article. This Harry guys was speaking out his ass. If you don't know the facts then shut the f up. How many fools rushed out and bought some cheap hd garbage because of what he said. He should feel shame.

Good to see Bill's piece getting some attention. I wonder how many news sites might pick it up, if links started getting emailed around. It's certainly bold and sensational enough. I wonder why there haven't been any positive responses on diggs so far. I'm not familiar with the site, but the responses read like a bunch of teenagers.

The worst part is that the fanboys keep fighting the inevitable. I replied on the diggs website to some of their "I don't believe him" comments. Told them to at least support their statement with some facts. The following is what I replied to some of the fanboys on diggs.com

"Have you guys read/researched the specs? You don't have to believe anything he says but at least do some research and support your argument with facts not just "I don't believe him".

So Toshiba has sold more 720p/1080i standalone players and this does what? If you're ignoring the fact that Blu-Ray has outsold HD DVD since the PS3 came out then you're really naive. PS3 is a 1080p Blu-Ray and DVD upscaler. What more could you want?

Lets face it, your mom won't go buy a HD DVD player because she already has a DVD player. To Joe 6 pack it's all the same. Lets even say that they go out and buy a HD DVD player then what? How many blockbuster titles does HD DVD have coming their way this year? Exactly, you're moms gonna be pissed when the most popular movies aren't seeing their way to her format of choice.

If you're still buying discs to get porn, you've really got to get with the times. Download it or watch it free on the web.

Wal-Mart doesn't even know about $150 HD DVD players. This rumor was shot down quite some time ago. Funai is yet to find a manufacturing partner in this endeavor. When it happens then we'll talk.

Even Microsoft doesn't have faith in HD DVD. If they did, they would have included it with the Elite. I would have gladly purchased an Elite if it had HD DVD capabilities out of the box but they felt that their format was proven. Good Move!"
