Iron Man 2 Starts Shooting on Monday! - Blu-ray Forum

Director Jon Favreau has revealed on his Twitter page that Iron Man 2 will start filming on Monday and that the "last cast has arrived in LA."

The cast includes Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson and Scarlett Johansson.

Iron Man 2 is scheduled for a May 7, 2010 release.

That's good news. The last I read was that Mickey Rourke wasn't going to be in the movie.

Oh no he is, and he's playing a Russian. There are lots of photos of Mickey touring a Russian prison and getting a feel for what they are like for research.

I think this could be a great movie. The director does not feel pressured to do any more of the origin story in the sequel of a superhero franchise, which leads to a better story. I would love to see multiple armors.

You better get used to seeing Sam Jackson in Marvel films. He's going to be Nick Fury in 9 of them.
