Michael Caine says Riddler for BATMAN 3 - Blu-ray Forum

THIS IS AN ACTUAL INTERVIEW WITH MICHAEL CAINE, NOT AN APRIL FOOLS

Michael Caine spoke to Collider staff about the next Batman movie, Heath's oscar, and Bale's "breakdown" on the T4 set. Some excerpts are below, followed by a link to the entire interview:

Q: Weren’t you signed for 3 Batmans?

MC: Yes, if they do another one, I’ll probably be the butler. I hope I’m still alive. Michael Goth, who played [Alfred] before me, the last time he played in Batman he was 84.

Q: Didn’t Christopher Nolan do this the last time also? He wanted to make another film in between?

MC: He did. I was in that too. The Prestige. (Laughs) Christopher doesn’t make pictures without me.

Q: Do you think he’ll come around to doing a third one?

MC: I would imagine so. That would be probably The Riddler.

Q: That will be a tough act to follow for anyone who plays the Riddler though?

MC: Yeah, I thought it would be a tough act to follow for anybody who played against The Joker after Jack Nicholson. (Laughs) You know what I’m saying? Heath is The Joker. We’ll see.

Q: Have you reached out to Christian?

MC: I haven’t seen him since. No. When I speak to him, I’m going to say, “What the **** are you doing?!” (Laughs)

Obviously this has yet to be confirmed by Nolan or WB, and please keep in mind if you're coming in here just to say "great another batman thread" that's threadcrapping. Michael Cain did NOT say the Riddler would be in Batman 3. He says PROBABLY. However since he's not writing the script he is just speculating like everyone else.

when he was asked about batman 3, he responded with the riddler. i didn't purposely title the thread to fool people (i didn't say confirmed/official..) as it is clear in the interview what he means and i made a point of saying afterward that it is still speculation. i apologize if i have upset you..

I wouldn't mind too much if Jim Carrey played The Riddler if this actually pans out. I think he has the acting chops to pull off a darker version of the character.

However, not long ago, Yahoo! posted several news that Johnny Depp was being considered for that role. How cool would that be if it happened.

Batman will take on villain The Riddler in the next instalment of the superhero franchise, according to the Caped Crusader's butler Sir Michael Caine.

The British star of both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight has let it slip that his movie boss' next foe will "probably be The Riddler" - a role made famous on screen by Jim Carrey in 1995's Batman Forever and on TV by Frank Gorshin, who died in 2005.

Johnny Depp and Eddie Murphy are both in the frame for the role, according to Hollywood gossips.

Caine has no idea who will be cast, but is hoping for a performance to rival Heath Ledger's Oscar-winning portrayal of The Joker in The Dark Knight.

Caine tells People.com, "I thought it (The Joker character) was going to be a tough job for anyone who played the role after Jack Nicholson (in 1989's Batman). Now Heath is the Joker."

k.....carrey isn't going to play him again. there is not even 1% chance of that happening......

daniel day lewis is a phenomenal actor but i cant see him doing that. depp without question would guarantee a huge box office not to mention he'd do a great job. but i think choosing someone unexpected (like with ledger) would be a great way to go. nolan sure knows how to pick them.
