A Gift From Bob, the sequel to popular 2016 UK pic A Street Cat Named Bob, has started shooting. Luke Treadaway returns as James Bowen for the film, which follows a homeless man who spends Christmas with a cat, Bob, he adopted while living in sheltered housing. The real-life story is adapted from Bowen’s own memoir and the original film was a success, grossing $16m worldwide including $5.4m in the UK via Sony Pictures Releasing. Charles Martin Smith is directing the sequel, which was written by Garry Jenkins. Producers are Adam Rolston and Parkhouse Pictures with Align and Twickenham Studios

Ditto, the original was excellent. Looking forward to this. under 17Mil worldwide is a very modest gross to move ahead with a sequel though. Obviously the budgets are extremely low but it still seems like an underwhelming amount.

RIP Bob The Cat

Bob The Cat, the inspirational feline credited with saving the life of former addict James Bowen, died June 15, at the age of 14.

Bowen, then a recovering addict, first met Bob in 2007 when he found him abandoned. They became a team nourishing each other, selling The Big Issue magazine on London streets. Source

It's the kind of film where the video, streaming and TV numbers are where the real money is.

The first was an absolute gem and a very pleasant surprise. These movies are especially heartwarming considering the real life Bob plays himself - devastated he has since passed on but his memory and legacy lives on in the movies. This looks wonderful.

It’s coming out in the U.S. November 9th! Just announced not too long ago. Been waiting for this announcement for awhile and lost hope it was coming so I’m excited!

Though in the politest possible way, a pity that the USA only Blu is a year behind the UK DVD. Thankfully I didn't buy the DVD, but waited and ordered the Blu.

It's Lionsgate so that means it'll be region locked which puts me out of luck.
