Hi all, i have PN58A650 and im starting to notice some shadows on the screen where images look like they have burnt in.
Any one else have this issue, the set is only 5months old and i notice even if a still image has been on for only a few mins. Like the PS3 start screen with the icons. The image corrects itself after a while so its not a big issue at the moment but i thought this set would no suffer this sort of effect. |

Anti Burn-In Technology:
Samsung's Anti-burn-in technology uses auto pixel shift, signal pattern processing function, and all white screens to ensure that no images are burned into the plasma panel. Pixel Shift: This function shifts the pixels of the displayed image every two minutes to prevent burn-in. White: This function removes after-images on the screen by changing the color of pixels to white. Scrolling: this function removes after-images on the screen by moving all the pixels on the PDP according to a pattern. Side Gray: When you watch TV with the screen ratio of 4:3, the screen is prevented from any damage by adjusting the white balance on both the extreme left and right sides of the television. Thats what it has for Anti Burn in. As for Dynamic not sure as im at work the set is still set as standard ive not really changed any colour settings or anything like that. It needs to be done just not got around to it. As posted above its probably nothing to worry about, its just this is my first nice big tv, and like any new baby you tend to worry :O) |

I wouldn't worry about it. Just adjust your contrast and brightness. Dynamic makes the pictures really bright, which can cause some IR. But it's no big deal because it'll only be there for a short time and the Burn In protection settings actually work.

It might be a little dark to you at first, but the settings should give you a better picture & better color acuracy altogether. When your used to BIG & BRIGHT it can be hard to watch the display at "movie" levels.
