Default College Basketball looks like crap on my 40W.

This is horrible.

They are all blurry. Their faces aren't defined. The slightest movement and the player goes all out of focus. Is it CBS' cameras? Or is it my TV?

Why does my Sony look like this?

Isn't it supposed to make sports look better? Not worse?

Not the best looking broadcast I have seen, but far from the worst. Change your channel over to the standard def version for a minute. Ewwwww.

I think the game looks perfect to me.

I'm using OTA signal, and a Plasma though.

I'm hoping it's CBS and DirecTV and not my Sony.

Though I know it's no XBR or anything, there isn't really a reason it would look this bad.

So I am blaming it on CBS/DirecTV.

I had no issues, and I have DirecTv and a Sammy LCD too. the picture looked as good as it usual does on CBS, which is good, but I would never say great, as I think CBS compresses their signal.

NCAA College Basketball looked fine here on 1080i here in Australia on normal digital TV. The coverage was from CBS. Not the best picture i've seen, though it was in HD.

It's the broadcast....720p is better for fast movement in sports, 1080i doesn't handle fast movement very well...unfortunately CBS and NBC only broadcast 1080i. It's not your tv!

I also watched the games and they were not the best. But I think its the channel and not the tv. CBS is not known for its quality HD programs. In fact I dont think they broadcast HD very well at all except for maybe the David Letterman show.
