Default BD-P3600 not displaying any kinds of MENUs

I recently bought the BD-P3600 and installed it as shown in the installation guide. When I switch it on, my TV switches to HDMI1 and I see that blue background with the bubbles thingy from Samsung. I've set my remote control and it controls volume etc but I can't open either the disk menu or the blu ray menu.

Thanks for the help.

What is you TV? Is it the blue screen from that or the player?

Do you have an HDMI cable from the player plugged into HDMI1 input on the TV?

Your tv a samsung? Turn off the netlink or whatever it's called that makes it auto sync with devices. I had no picture..sound was off/on before I shut that feature off on my 4600

switch ur tv to whatever HDMI input the blu-ray is hooked up to. Turn on the blu-ray player(Duh). Eject any disc that may be in the tray. On the screen should be displayed "Samsung" with "Netflix" and "Pandora" below it. From there you can hit one of the menu buttons on the remote and it will bring up your menu.
