Default The next few months of upcoming releases is terrible!

I really don't understand who decides & how it's decided what movies are next in line to be converted to Blu Ray. There's maybe a handful of buy-worthy titles thru August, the rest are fillers. There are so many other good movies that people desire on Blu Ray, but they waste time on C rated mild entertainment..

Don't they read the 'Wish List' area?? Pssst -- hey morons, if people are talking about movies they 'wish' were on Blu Ray, chances are you'll sell a bunch of them LOL.

Cmon guys, get your act together already! Kind of sucks that you are the only company that converts to Blu Ray -- we need a competitor to pick up the slack and convert the movies that you won't!

The summer is traditionally a dead time for movie releases because they are releasing movies that were in the theaters in February-April which is the worst time of the year. Sales are also traditionally lower during the summer so they aren't going to release a huge catalog movie during the summer. You'll see a lot more big releases later in the year like Lord of the Rings.

one man's trash is another man's treasure....just because certain movie releases aren't on YOUR wishlist doesn't mean they aren't on other people's....

besides, the end of the year has a slew of great releases. i dont get why some people on this forum expect a hit movie to come out every single week PATIENCE people....

+1.

I don't spend lots of time watching BDs in the spring and summer anyway unless it is something I'm really really interested in.

yeah, summer for me is the time to get crap done outside so i'm not really watching a lot of movies in summer.

now, in fall, when the summer movies start getting released, that is the best time of year!!!

Exactly. I also think that June 16th is one of the greatest Blu-ray release dates yet. There's a ton of good TV releases, including Lost seasons 1 & 2, John Adams, Generation Kill, and Burn Notice season 2. There's a fairly popular new release in Friday the 13th. There's a lot of good catalog titles, including Ghostbusters, Spaceballs, Dr. Strangelove, Miracle, Friday the 13th 2 & 3, and Sling Blade.

Weell shiver me timbers - what a perfect time to 'convert' movies from DVD, when there aint smack in the theaters! Seriously, go check out the 'wish list' forum. Tons of sticky ones, a bunch of others spark interest, but none are posting development for release in the next 6 months. Example: they consider Catwoman before say, Tombstone?? Oh sure, let's get The Beast on our shelves before Jurassic Park, goood marking choice fellas.. The list goes on..

you don't know what goes on behind the scenes and how decisions are made. i dont think it's someone just saying "oh lets do catwoman next instead of tombstone" calm down dude, the movies will all come out in due time and it will be great when they do. what's the fun in having everything come out at once anyways...

Oh I'm not mad, I think it's funny is all. Sure, one man's trash is another's treasure, but I think it's funny they pick things that a small group finds to be treasure. That was nice thing about HD dvd's, they did other movies majority of the time, so you had both collections, movies coming out twice as fast in high definition.

Well, gives most people a reason to spend money on other things this summer, that's cool..move money around the economy while the crap blu rays sit on store shelves... works for me LOL

Default I have to agree with the original post...

But god bless this dry run....helps my bank account tremendously if anything.
It hard to keep up as it is. I want only 7 blu-rays through July: Friday the 13th 2009, Dollhouse, Knowing, Iron Maiden Flight 666, 12 Monkeys, Coraline, and Watchmen. That is a good thing....I'll might have some cash to buy my daughter that winter coat she needs (maybe)

i love having all these great releases in the fall...gives me something to look forward to

I'm pretty sure he thinks this site regulates what movies are released on Blu-ray and which aren't.
